Adding Related Lists in Security Incident Workspace

I'm struggling a bit with adding new Related Lists in the SIR Workspace.

I've created an m2m table linking SIR Incidents and Departments for example, but when I try adding it following the documentation for adding Entry Point Lists or if I just add it to the Related Lists view, in the Workspace I only get the New button which opens the form to create a new Department which is not what I want. I want the user to be able to create new records on the m2m table. 

I know how to disable the New button in the Workspace, but really struggling to add either an Edit... or Link button.

We have a similar requirement for the Company table too to be able to associate multiple vendors.

Any advice?

Followed that and got the exact same problem. Just a New button on the Related List that creates a new Department record rather than an new record on the m2m table...
