VITs are moving to InReview state from deferred state by VR system after exception expired.

Hello EveryOne,

We're observing an issue with the VUL (Remediation Task) state flow when handling exceptions:

  1. Raising an exception on a VUL creates a VCA record (moving VUL to In Review)

  2. After VCA approval, VUL correctly moves to Deferred

  3. When the Until date expires, the VUL should return to Open – but instead reverts to In Review without any new extension request

Questions:

  1. Is there an OOB configuration that forces this Deferred→In Review transition without a new exception?

  2. Can VCA records be detached from VUL/VIT records after approval or on Rejection?

@Yamsanibhavani

You are correct, the expected behavior for the VUL is to return to "Open" after the "Until" date expires. Refer this Exception Management overview

There is no Out-of-the-Box (OOB) configuration that forces the Deferred→In Review transition without a new exception. This behavior might be due to custom configurations.

And for detaching of VCA records, I do not think they will be detached. I tried in my PDI and can still see them on VUL and VIT after approval and rejection.

Hi @Shaik Abdul Mu1 ,

Thanks for the reply.

We are seeing that Record is moving to "inReview" instead of "Open" state. Checked complete process didn't found any reason for this issue.
