Can someone explain the difference between Members and Assignee in Visual Task Boards?

Hello,

We are working on using the Visual Task Boards but users are having issues assigning tasks.   The assignee seem to not have permission to open the tasks and are getting private messages restrictions.

We found that if we promote people to board members they are but I is that the way to do it?

Thank you both on this.   Sounds good.

Hi,

When I set up a VTB, I make anyone who either will be working on tasks or who might need to view the tasks as "members."   Then as I create tasks, I either drag the member name onto the VTB card (which makes them a assignee (either primary or additional) or I open the task card and add his/her name within the task card.   So I think of members as any stakeholder and assignee as individuals who will complete at least one of the tasks.

Thank you both on this.   Sounds good.

Karen is using a great process. Only members can access the board - assignees do not have access. The most relevant info I could find is in this product documentation page:   Assign a task to a user

I hope that helps 🙂
