How to build a report on trend of backlog growth over time vs team velocity

Hi,

I am trying to build a report for my team. 

The idea is around visibility into how much work is being assigned to this team compared to how much work they can actually complete. 

The report would be:

Trend of backlog growth over time vs team velocity, measured by # of stories

• Backlog growth rate = # of stories in backlog per month
• Velocity = # of stories completed per month

Not sure how to do this in the report builder. So far I have only been able to get the backlog growth rate per month and now am not sure how to incorporate the velocity piece. Any help would be appreciated.
