Many times, we come across requirements where the “Create Shift” button needs to be hidden from the Schedules tab within the Service Operations Workspace.
Since this is handled through the UI Builder, a few carefully applied configuration changes can help you achieve this quickly and cleanly.
This guide will walk you through the exact steps to hide the button using a custom variant in UI Builder.
🔧 Before you begin:
Ensure you are working in the correct application scope:

Also make sure you have an update set created in the same scope.
✅ Step‑by‑Step Guide
1️⃣ Open the UI Builder Page Variant
Open the following URL (update instanceName with your instance):

This loads the OOTB page variant used for the Schedules tab.
2️⃣ Duplicate the Existing Variant 📄➡️📄
- Click Settings (top-right)
- Select Duplicate
- Provide a meaningful name for your variant
- Click Create
This creates your own editable copy without modifying the OOTB configuration.
3️⃣ Open the New Variant in Editor ✏️
Click Open in editor to begin customizing the new variant.
4️⃣ Hide the “Create Shift” Button 👁️🗨️❌
- Use the search bar to search for Create Shift Button in left side in Content section
- On the right-side Configuration panel:
- Go to Configure → Hide Component
- Set it to True
- Click Save
This ensures the button will no longer appear for users.
5️⃣ Set Variant Order to Take Precedence 🔝
To ensure your custom variant overrides the OOTB one:
- Open Settings again
- Set Order = -1
- Click Save
A lower order number means higher priority during rendering.
