What is Responsive Page Authoring?

This functionality allows developers to create a new page that can be customized to look and function differently for various form sizes or breakpoints.

Where is this option available?

Responsive authoring is only available when creating new UI Builder pages from scratch.

During the creation of a new page, the below section displays with two options,

Build Responsive : Ability to build your page with the option to customize it based on the page width (breakpoints) like mobile, tablet and desktop.

Build Without Responsive : Auto resizing of the page.

Does it work for existing pages?

It is not available on existing pages as they cannot be upgraded or converted to enable this new feature. It is also not available on pages built with page templates. Pages where responsive authoring is not available will continue to use the existing, default reflow model to adjust pages for different screen widths.

What are the default sizes available baseline in the breakpoint?

  • Desktop (1281 pixels to infinity)
  • Tablet (1280 pixels and smaller)
  • Tablet (640 pixels and smaller)
  • Mobile (500 pixels to zero)

Note: Custom breakpoints can be created but its limited.

What can be customized using this option?

  • Showing or hiding components
  • Changing component configuration
  • Editing styles
  • Rearranging the layout

What is the benefit of using this?

A page containing three columns when viewed on a laptop, can be adjusted to display a single column on a mobile screen.
