Favorite Manager

Favorite Manager is a utility that can be used to arrange your Favorites (Bookmarks) into Groups using a simple drag-and-drop interface. The Groups can then be shared with team members or migrated from one SN instance to another.

You can download the Favorite Manager  from the SN Share site. 
Please note:  There are TWO updset sets to install.

Here are my suggestions for the next release:

1) I have wanted to Share Favorite Groups with our tester - who works in SN TEST (not DEV);  you can do this currently, but it takes two steps.  For the next release, the Get and Share features should be able to select both user and instance (not just user as is currently the case).

2) To make it easier to select user_name's when Sharing or Getting, I think it would be good to be able to select from a list.  I can't do this with a System Property, because Properties are common across the entire Instance.  I would have to do this with a user preference, so that individual users can set up their team members.

3) Maybe the user can select a Group too and share with the entire Group or selected members within the Group?  However, it needs to remain easy to use.

4) Occasionally when you refresh the page, you get TWO 'Not Grouped' groups when there should only be one.  This is a bug.  It does not really affect usability much - but it is unexpected and not necessary.

5) Ideally all these features should be implemented by SN?  Anyone in SN listening?  I feel that the OOTB SN favorites/bookmarks feature needs some enhancements.

6) Maybe a Name change?  Favorites Manager?

Awesome starting place, I love it already!  @Chuck Tomasi has been trying to bug people inside SN to work on favorites stuff for a while now, he might love this

This App has a few issues on San Diego.  I developed it for Rome. 

ServiceNow have greatly improved the Favorites in the new Polaris UI in San Diego and the Favorites have changed substantially.   The sys_ui_bookmark and sys_ui_bookmark_group tables have lots of new fields. It was fun developing this and I learned at lot - but I am a bit undecided about weather or not to continue.

I will have a think.

The key features that are Still missing in SN are:

1. The Ability to Share Favorites with your team.
2. Ability to create new Groups
3. Ability to migrate Favorite Groups between SN Instance (ie. from DEV to TEST).

Hopefully SN will implement these the next release?  Please?
