Hello ServiceNow Ninjas,

Recently, during an administrative task, I need to see sysID in the list view. Actually, having sysID in the list view was saving my time, else I need to use script and add logs, etc, and then collect all sysID and process it.

So, I tried thinking – Can I add sysID as a column in the List view? And Bingo! I got it.

So, Below I am enumerating steps of adding sysID in List and Form View as well.

Follow these simple steps and say – Cheese!!! - Click Here

You can watch the complete video as well - Click Here

Thanks

I would have read the article if it were posted here, but I don't click on strange links. I don't think it's worth reporting as a bad thing, but I'm not sure the article will be read as much the way it's posted now.

@John Dahl I like your idea of adding a line after the article "Originally posted at ....." and will follow it.

Rest assured of the quality of the content at my blog -  https://servicenowspectaculars.com/

if you are using SN Utils, you can get sys_id to the List much easier

  1. open Personalize List Columns
  2. doubleclick anywhere in the whitespace
  3. under the Selected there is a text field, write sys_id into it and confirm with an Enter
  4. arrange the sys_id anywhere you want
  5. click OK
  6. enjoy, praise Arnoud Kooi

There is also a really great article for how to accomplish this on the Community here: How to add the sys_id to a form

Thanks to the original poster, it works well. In the original post the URL link didn't work, but the YouTube video did. If anyone is unsure on clicking the links, here are the steps:

  1. Go to sys_ui_list.list
  2. Filter by the Table, View (Default View), and User (usually yourself)
  3. Open the record
  4. Under List Elements related links, click New button
  5. Under field Element enter sys_id, under field Position enter the column position in the view you'd like it to be (this can be changed later)
  6. Save/Submit
  7. Go to the table view you added sys_id to
  8. Click the Personalized List gear, you'll now see the sys_id field and can move its position
