When setting your SMTP email account to your own company email server, this impacts whether the email looks like it is spoofed since the email originates from a servicenow.com domain but the email address listed is a [yourcompany].com domain. Many email providers respect the DMARC settings of the originating domain, leading to those email providers blocking emails from your instance. Email providers may change their rules over time, and I was unable to find any publicly posted, up to date, official or unofficial list.
