Session Info and Lab Instance Setup

This event will involve hands-on labs that will need to be completed in a Personal Developer Instance (PDI) on the Utah release.

You can find instructions for requesting a new PDI here. If you already have a Utah PDI, please make sure it’s updated to the latest Utah Patch (which should be Patch 4 Hotfix 2).

 

Day 1, Session One: Next Experience best practices and roadmap

Instance Prep

In this session you’ll do a lab where you configure and prebuilt workspace. You’ll need to load an update set (or connect to git).

 

Setting up your PDI for this lab with Update Sets

  1. Download and install the app from the Update Set titled FleetMgmtAppv1.2.xml in the following zip:
  1. Follow Steps 2a-e in this Share Guide to learn how to import and install an Update Set. If you get any errors, use the Accept the remote update options for those.
  2. After the update set is installed, add the x_snc_flt_mgmt.user role to your admin user and logout and back in.
OPTIONAL: Setting up your PDI for this lab with Github

You can also find the base application, completed exercises, and the completed app in different branches of this github repo: k23-CCL1200-K23-app. You can fork the repo and then pull the main branch of the app into your PDI to start.

 

Day 1, Session Two: Supercharge your self-service experiences with Generative AI

Instance Prep

This session will involve a lab where you’ll use Virtual Agent. You will need to activate the following plugins to complete the lab.

  1. Go to developer.servicenow.com and login.
  2. Click on your initials at the top right and choose Activate Plugin.

  3. In the list of plugins find Glide Virtual Agent and choose Install.

  4. Go to All > System Definition > Plugins and search for and activate each of the following plugins:
    1. Search ITSM Virtual Agent Conversations and choose Install.

    2. Search Proactive Triggers and choose Install.

  5. Download this list of incidents and import them as xml to the incident table.

LAB: Build your first process with process automation designer 

 

Instance Prep

This session will involve a lab where you’ll use Process Automation Designer. There are a couple of plugins you’ll need to activate to do this lab.

  1. Activate the Playbook Experience plugins by:
    1. Go to All > System Definition > Plugins
    2. Search for the Playbook Experience plugin
    3. Choose the green Install/Update All button.

    1. Search Process Automation Designer
    2. Choose Install/Update All
