San Diego, where is the version name coming from?
Trying to find out why the new ServiceNow release version is named San Diego, it was uncovered that not all roads lead to Rome, but more then one road leads to (or from) San Diego.
Please find below some fun facts about ServiceNow and San Diego
The founder: Fred Luddy
Fred Luddy, the founder and Chairman of the Board of ServiceNow, residences is in San Diego, California.
Note: Solana Beach is a coastal city in San Diego County, California.
The first employee: David Loo
David Loo is the first employee and Founding developer of ServiceNow. In januari 2013 he founded Perspectium.
The building: “unoffical engineering hub”
Although ServiceNow moved it’s headquarters, the San Diego office still plays a big role:
ServiceNow moved its headquarters to Silicon Valley in 2014 and has since grown into a $52 billion public company. But the company kept a big office in San Diego — and that fact is increasingly significant as time goes on.
San Diego is considered ServiceNow’s unofficial engineering hub, employing roughly 900 workers (with over 100 new San Diego jobs listed on their website).

I knew that some ex employees founded companies of their own, but reading some of their foundation stories is really inspiring! Turns out to be a really small world.
