Is your UI16 Application Navigator stuck on load?
I recently experienced an issue with the UI16 Application Navigator not loading any applications, favorites or recently viewed items for several days.
(Note: This non-prod instance is on the San Diego release using UI16. The Next Experience UI has not been activated.)
Turns out the cause was that it was trying to load approximately 347 favorites which caused it to stall.
Where did the 347 favorites come from? That is another issue to investigate since I had only logged into this instance once before and only added one application module to the already added 'Home' favorite making only two.
After several days of deep diving into several rabbit holes to figure this out, I decided to check the favorites list (sys_ui_bookmark.list) which is where I noticed I had 347 bookmarks after I filtered on the User column of the list to find my favorites (bookmarks). I deleted those and viola! The Application Navigator is back to normal.
During these last few days of troubleshooting, I did not find much on the community that references this type of case so I am publishing this quick article in hopes that it helps someone experiencing the same issue.

I am experiencing the same issue. Clearing the bookmarks entries did not resolve however.
We have a ticket with HI requesting assistance.
