In Kingston, two new knowledge roles were added: knowledge_coach and knowledge_domain_expert.
According to ServiceNow docs, here are the descriptions:
knowledge_coach |
Knowledge coaches perform AQI surveys on articles and can write, edit and review knowledge management articles. |
knowledge_domain_expert |
Knowledge domain experts perform AQI surveys on articles and can write, edit and review knowledge management articles. |
As is easily seen, other than the role name itself, there is no differentiation in the description.
What are the functional differences in assigning these roles?

Hi Eric
The roles have been created for the future for other features on our roadmap.
Thanks

Hi Eric,
Functionally knowledge coach is the one who does AQI on articles and coaches the team on best practices. On the other hand knowledge domain expert is the one who keeps track on the health of knowledge base.
But as of now as @sarup mentioned these roles are created for future roadmap.
Thanks
Shruti

Kind of old thread, but curious to know, has these future plans happened yet, in regards to the roles knowledge_coach and knowledge_domain_expert? The documentation (San Diego) doesn't really state scenarios when to use these roles and they seem to have basically the same rights and accesses.
