Have you ever spent 20 minutes looking for a feature that was right in front of you?
Recently, I was about to build a custom skill in ServiceNow. I opened my instance and started looking for Now Assist Skill Kit.
I couldn't find it.
I checked the menus, explored the available options, and spent around 20 minutes trying to figure out where the feature had gone.
Then I discovered the reason: Now Assist Skill Kit had been renamed to AI Skill Kit.
The feature hadn't necessarily disappeared. The terminology had changed.
And that got me thinking: how many ServiceNow developers are experiencing the same confusion?
ServiceNow continues to evolve rapidly, particularly in the AI space. New capabilities, unified experiences, and updated product branding mean that the terminology we learned yesterday might not be the terminology we see in today's interface.
So, instead of letting you spend those extra 20 minutes searching, I've put together this practical guide to help you connect the old names with the new ones.

| Previous terminology | Newer terminology | What you should know |

Now I have a question for you!
Have you recently opened your ServiceNow instance and discovered that a feature you were familiar with had been renamed?
Share the old name and the new name in the comments. Let's build a community-maintained list that helps developers spend less time searching and more time building.
If this guide saved you a few minutes, bookmark it and share it with another ServiceNow developer.
Happy building!
Cheers,
