Hi ServiceNow Community,
I’m working on an AI-powered application called ITSM Auto Pilot, designed to simplify and automate repetitive ServiceNow ITSM configuration and administration tasks using natural-language requests.
The goal is to allow an administrator to describe a requirement in plain English and have the AI interpret the request, identify the required ServiceNow artifacts, generate an implementation plan, validate dependencies, and automate the supported configuration steps with appropriate approvals and verification.
For example, an administrator could request:
“Create a laptop request catalog item with laptop type, business justification, cost center, manager approval, and IT fulfillment.”
The solution would identify the required building blocks, such as:
Catalog items and variables
Variable sets and UI policies
Approval requirements and fulfillment workflows
Assignment rules and notifications
Validation and post-implementation verification
I’m also exploring similar AI-powered builders for SLA definitions, assignment rules, notification configurations, approval workflows, form policies, knowledge templates, and end-to-end ITSM processes.
I’d love to hear from the community:
What repetitive ServiceNow ITSM development or administration tasks would benefit most from AI-powered automation?
Have you implemented solutions that generate and configure multiple related ServiceNow artifacts from a natural-language requirement?
Which ServiceNow APIs, platform capabilities, or supported approaches would you recommend for safely automating these configurations?
What challenges have you encountered around dependency validation, approvals, duplicate prevention, execution, and verification?
Are there existing ServiceNow capabilities or community projects that address this use case?
My objective is to build something practical that reduces manual development effort, improves configuration consistency, and delivers measurable business value—not simply an AI chatbot that provides recommendations.
I’d appreciate your ideas, experiences, architectural suggestions, and recommendations for use cases worth prioritizing.
Thanks in advance for sharing your insights!
