Now Assist Header background color change

I have a requirement to change the header background color. I have tried custom branding, but it is not working. Does anyone know a solution for how we can change the header color of the Now Assist Virtual Agent?

The described variable has already been added to the CSS in the OOB EC theme; however, the Virtual Agent is still displaying a white background color
