What's new in ServiceNow Otto for Creator

Brazil Patch 1 (EA) and Australia Patch 7 (October 2026 store release)

New to the series? The ServiceNow Otto for Creator Articles Hub collects every release post and builder guide in one place.

Overview

Build Agent comes to SPP in Australia and Singapore at full feature parity, with longer prompts, steadier long sessions, and a faster ServiceNow Studio.

The October 2026 store release is live. The headline is reach: Build Agent is now available on SPP in Australia and Singapore, at parity with the commercial version. Same agent, same governance, inside the approved boundary.

Alongside that, this release is about the parts you feel over a long working session. A prompt box that takes a full spec. Conversations that hold up as a build grows. A ServiceNow Studio that opens faster.

The road to here

September brought automatic upgrades, the ServiceNow IDE merging into ServiceNow Studio, expanded playbook generation, and parameterized ATF tests and test suites. October is a shorter list by design. Most of the work went into widening where Build Agent runs, and into the places a long build used to slow down.

In case you missed it: Autonomous Engineer launched alongside the September release, powered by Build Agent. Build Agent works conversationally, a piece at a time. Autonomous Engineer adds a second mode: you hand it your requirements up front, it interviews you and turns them into a plan of work items, and once you approve the plan it builds them in parallel in the background, generating and running ATF tests against each one. Manali's introduction post has the full walkthrough.

Autonomous Engineer availability

Autonomous Engineer ships as its own app on the ServiceNow Store, separate from Build Agent, and is included with the AI Workflow Factory SKU. Check entitlements to confirm access, or reach out to your account team for guidance. Enabling it takes a few additional steps, if inquiring with your account team or support reference KB0563030.

Availability

Build Agent on SPP in Australia and Singapore

What's shipping: Build Agent is now available on SPP in Australia and Singapore, with feature parity to the commercial version. This is the same Build Agent, not a reduced build for regulated environments.

Why it matters: Teams in these environments have had the same question for most of this year, which is when they could use any of this. The answer was never about the agent itself. Build Agent sends model calls out through the instance, and in a regulated environment that path has to terminate inside the approved boundary before anything can be switched on.

What this means for you: Everything described in this series since the Australia GA release is available to you, in one go, on the same functionality as every other instance. If you work in one of these environments, this is not a feature release. It is the first one you can install.

That includes:

  • Build Agent in ServiceNow Studio, for building and editing apps conversationally
  • Test Agent, for authoring, running and troubleshooting ATF tests
  • In-app agents and semantic search
  • Playbook generation and flow automation, including the advanced flow logic added earlier this year

Build Agent

Longer prompts, steadier sessions

A chat input that grows with your prompt

What's shipping: The Build Agent chat input now expands as you type, and holds a much longer prompt before it starts to scroll.

Why it matters: People stopped typing prompts a while ago. They paste in a spec, a policy, or a half-written story, and a three-line box turned that into a scroll bar you had to fight to proofread what you had written.

What this means for you: You can see the whole prompt before you send it. That matters most on the long ones, where a detail buried in the middle is the difference between the app you wanted and the app you asked for.

Context handling in long sessions

What's shipping: Build Agent handles long conversations more reliably, including sessions that run well past a single build.

Why it matters: A long app build is a long conversation, and the agent carries the build history forward the whole way. Tables it created, scripts it wrote, errors it worked through. As that history grows it has to decide what to keep, and this release makes that decision better in sessions that go on for hours.

What this means for you: You can keep building in the same conversation instead of opening a new one to stay safe. Context you established earlier in the session is more likely to still be there when you need it.

Studio

Updates to ServiceNow Studio

  • Studio opens directly. The ServiceNow Studio tile on the platform page now opens Studio without the intermediate redirect.
  • The Use Build Agent setting is gone. Build Agent is part of Studio, so the toggle in user preferences has been removed. If you had it switched off, the pane will be there the next time you open Studio.
  • Studio loads faster, particularly on first load. Work that did not need to happen at startup has been moved out of it.

Also in this release

  • Gemini 3.7. Available as a model option for teams who prefer Google's models, alongside the existing providers. Select it in AI Admin Hub > Settings under Manage Model Providers. Toggle for the Build Agent skill.
  • Attachments persist. Files stay in the conversation across a page reload, and when you switch between chat windows.
  • Accessibility fixes on the conversations pane.

Resources for builders

The Build Agent Best Practices Guide covers how to structure prompts, ground the agent in your instance, and get reliable results on real work. The Prompting Guide works from a simpler premise: ask Build Agent to teach you.

Getting started

Build Agent runs in ServiceNow Studio. For this release you will want Brazil Patch 1 or Australia Patch 7. ServiceNow SDK 4.13 is the version paired with this Build Agent release.

As a reminder, you can try Build Agent without an entitlement. The Build Agent - Trial store app gives each account 100 prompts per month, and personal developer instances come with Build Agent activated at 25 prompts per instance. Everything described in this post is on the standard Build Agent entitlement, and the Build Agent - Trial path PDIs follow a separate release cadence.

What's next

We are working through the feedback from this year, and there has been a lot of it. Performance, UX, and a steady stream of governance and permission requests are all in scope, and the permission work in particular is something we hear about from almost every customer running a delegated development model.

Beyond that, we are looking at how Build Agent holds context, how it handles work you repeat often instead of making you describe it again each time, and how the whole SDLC experience fits together from requirements through to deployment.

These are directions rather than commitments, but they are where our attention is going.
