EmployeeWorks = renamed slate -> supposed to be the new, chat focused frontend experience.
MoveWorks = a separate platform (bye one platform)  , EmployeeWorks built on moveworks and you can use now learning to try it.

Otto -> renamed Now Assist
AIX = LUX -> new frontend framework in Q4

The names, explained

Term Definition
EmployeeWorks The overall employee solution: a single place to find information, request help, and complete work across departments and business applications. It brings together the employee experience and ServiceNow’s AI capabilities.
EmployeeWorks Web App (formerly Employee Slate) The browser-based employee interface for conversations, content, services, and tasks. EmployeeWorks Web App is the current name for the version built for Moveworks. Employee Slate (built for Now Assist) retains its name, so “Slate” remains valid when referring to that specific version.
ServiceNow Otto ServiceNow’s conversational AI interface that understands requests, finds answers, and orchestrates agents and workflows across business systems. It brings together capabilities from Moveworks and Now Assist to help complete work while respecting existing permissions, policies, and approval workflows.
Moveworks The AI assistant company and technology ServiceNow acquired in December 2025, bringing conversational AI, enterprise search, and a reasoning engine. Its technology helps power the combined experience, while the Moveworks name remains in products and integrations.
Now Assist ServiceNow’s established AI capabilities embedded in its applications—summarizing records, creating and editing content. Those capabilities are being brought into the Otto experience, so you’ll still encounter Now Assist in documentation, plugins, and configuration during the transition
LUX Framework (formerly AIUX) ServiceNow’s new UI framework—the foundation underneath experiences such as EmployeeWorks Web App and AI Control Tower. Earlier material describes the employee experience foundation as AI Experience Framework (AIUX); current developer guidance uses LUX.
AI Control Tower The central hub for discovering, governing, securing, monitoring, and measuring enterprise AI, including third-party AI. Its role is oversight across the organization, with a scope much broader than employee self-service.

  1. Moveworks is the conversational first platform that ServiceNow acquired
  2. EmployeeWorks is ServiceNow's portal offering with Moveworks embedded into it
  3. Slate refers to #2's portal as a standalone
  4. Otto is the new branding of all of our conversational AI capabilities all in one umbrella
  5. Lux is the upcoming new UI framework that Slate is built upon. The goal is to allow the same underlying technologies to be used to build out End User and Fulfiller experiences.
