Introducing Project Insights Generation
Now available in ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. This AI-powered capability analyzes your projects across all dimensions and delivers timely, actionable insights directly to your inbox, so you can act early and keep projects on track.
Why It Matters:
Project managers spend significant time reviewing tasks, resources, milestones and financials just to understand where a project stands. Too often, issues are discovered only after they start impacting timelines, budgets or delivery. This reactive approach limits timely visibility and delays decision-making.
What Makes It Special:
- On-Demand & Scheduled Insights: Share insights instantly or set a cadence for regular updates.

Personalized Content: Choose topics, tone and priorities that matter to your projects.

Stakeholder Visibility: Share insights via email with key stakeholders, not just the Project Manager, keeping everyone aligned.

Multi-Dimensional Analysis: AI analyzes multiple project dimensions together, giving you a holistic view of project health.
This feature is turned on by default for customers on Zurich Patch 4 and above. If you have Now Assist with an appropriate role (it_project_manager), you're ready to go.
How It Works:
- Navigate to Workspaces > Project Workspace then open any project
- From the Planning page, click More Actions icon [...] and select Configure project insights
- Choose topics: Select or deselect topics you care about > Next
- Personalize content: Define tone, style, and priorities (e.g., "Show risks on top. Use bullets and keep it concise.") > Next
- Set frequency: Choose cadence (Weekly/Bi-weekly/Monthly) and delivery day
- Add recipients: Project Manager is the default recipient, add additional stakeholders as needed
- Optional: Click Send preview to receive an instant sample email along with scheduling
- Click Schedule to activate scheduled insights.
Pro Tip: Use Send preview to see exactly what your stakeholders will receive before scheduling.

Ans: AI Agent analyzes multiple dimensions including Project Tasks (status, risks, blockers), Milestones (key deadlines at risk), and Resources (allocation, utilization, absences). You can select which dimensions to include when configuring insights.
2. What types of issues does the AI identify within each of these dimensions?
Ans: Our AI Agent identifies issues across three key dimensions:

Ans: Absolutely! In the Personalize content step, you can specify tone, writing style, format (bullets vs. paragraphs) and which areas to prioritize. For example: "I want 3-4 liner insights. Show the risks on top. Use bullets and keep it concise and formal."
5. Who receives the project insights email?
Ans: By default, the Project Manager receives the insights. However, you can add additional stakeholders, team members, or executives as recipients when configuring the skill.
6. Can I send insights on-demand or only on a schedule?
Ans: Both! You can set a recurring cadence (Weekly/Bi-weekly/Monthly) for automatic delivery or send insights on-demand along with setting the cadence whenever you need an immediate insight.
