Opening our 2024 season of SPM Academy, we heard from Adam Smith-Cairns, Senior Product Marketing Manager, IT Asset Management, and Debbra McGrath, Principal Product Marketing Engineer. This duo showed us how companies are approaching big problems such as cost optimization and risk management.
Adam opened with a discussion about trends across the industry from an analyst perspective, highlighting analysis from Forrester showing that upgrading, refreshing, or consolidating business apps, hardware and software infrastructure is the #1 priority for CIOs.
But what exactly keeps enterprise personas up at night? Adam explained that the various silos between enterprise architecture and technology asset management groups cause problems of visibility and efficiency, leading to increased risk. There is a clear need to share information more broadly, and the opportunity to automate workflows can create better collaboration and alignment.
Adam then showed how teams can be brought together and how a holistic view can be created, via the ServiceNow approach. First, companies can consolidate on a single platform to plan and manage technology assets. Next, decision efficiency can be driven by automation to create alignment and collaboration through the tech lifecycle. And finally, ServiceNow scales results through cost optimization and risk reduction.
Next, Debbra shared a visual demo, telling viewers the story of how a team across a global organization called Acme Corp., uses the ServiceNow platform to optimize their technology spend, mitigate risks, and ensure continued governance to support their business needs. The Acme journey showcased how the CIO and executive leadership have the insight they need to track progress against goals; how the VP of Enterprise Architecture is able to assess usage, mitigate risks, and monitor application business value; and how the VP of Asset Management is able to optimize costs, migrate to cloud, and govern with a technology reference model.
As always, we wrapped up with upcoming events and resources and a few questions from our audience about they can bring their teams and processes seamlessly together to optimize technology spend and mitigate risks with ServiceNow -the single platform for digital business.
