add new user to group operational resource plan

Has anyone been able to figure out how to add a new user to a Group Operational Resource plan?  It's referenced in the Rome release notes but the links go to the information for allowing management of operational resource plans in the allocation workbench.  Is there an admin setting?  Anyone using this functionality?  Seems promising but we haven't figured it out.

Hi @Mary Myers ,

First of all, two configuration steps are required to create/manage operational resource plans (RPLNs) from the resource allocation workbench (RAW).

1. Enable the system property (as a system admin)
’ Create and manage operational resource plans from the resource allocation workbench’

2. Select ’Operational Plans’ option from RAW configuration (as a resource manager)

Now as a resource manager (RM), one can add new resources to a completely confirmed / allocated operational RPLN provided it is created using %capacity and not by hours.

Let me explain the steps with the help of an example.

For example:

A res grp has 3 resources and all of them have 176 hours capacity from Jun - Sep.

Now create a group Operational RPLN (Jun – Aug) for 10% capacity

Then confirm / allocate this operational RPLN. As a result, resource finder will display the reduced capacity & availability and increased allocations.

At this point, the planned and allocated hours on the allocated RPLN will be same.

Now a new member is added to this group.

To add this user to the (above created) allocated operational RPLN, select this user from the resource finder and allocate. On adding the resource to the RPLN, percent capacity defined on the operational RPLN (in this case 10%) will be allocated to the new user.

Hope this provides the  answer of your query. Feel free to mark this answer as correct / helpful.

Thanks !

Is there a way to do this in the new resource management workspace?
