Adding a new member to a Resource Group

I have a resource group created with an Operational Assignment assigned to the group.  It is for a weekly team meeting and is assigned for the entire year.  We have a new team member, and they have been added to the group, but the Operational Assignment for the team meeting did not automatically get applied to them.  If I go into the Parent Assignment, I don't see an option to add an additional resource assignment for just the new group member.

 

What is the expected method for adding a new member to the group and having existing group allocations applied to them?  Is there a way to have group or role allocations recalculated when a new member is added?

Hi @jaguthrie ,

 

  • As an Admin, update the record and assign the Manager field to the Resource Manager user.
  • Then impersonate the Resource Manager again.
  • Verify whether the “Edit” or “New” buttons are visible in the “Group Members” related list.

If the issue persists, consider the following options:

  1. Set up a Delegated Administration rule that allows Resource Managers to manage users within their assigned groups.
  2. Create a write/create ACL on the sys_user_grmember table with a condition such as:     group.manager | is dynamic | Me

The problem is not adding the member to the group.  The problem is that existing Group Resource Allocations are not being assigned to the new member when they are added to the group.  

 

For example, my group has a standing weekly meeting.  I have created an operational assignment for the group for the entire year.  Part way through the year we get a new member added to the group.  I add the user to the resource group and set the group as their primary resource group in their employee profile.  When I refresh the group, I can see the new member has been added, but they are not being allocated to the Group Operational Assignment for the group meeting.
