Behavior of Value field when Assessment Required is false in Demand record

In ServiceNow Demand Management, what is the out-of-the-box behavior of the Value field when Assessment Required is set to false?

 

From the documentation, it looks like the Value field is part of Assessment Data and is normally calculated from assessment results. However, I also see a note saying the Value and Score fields can be updated by cost plans, benefit plans, or resource assignments while the demand is in Qualified or Approved state.

 

When Assessment Required = false, should the Value field be populated by a manager?

 

We are using Project Management TeamSpace 1, so I’m also interested in whether teamspace configuration changes this behavior.
