Business Capabilities and Impacted Business Applications fields on project form

Business Capabilities and Impacted Business Applications fields on project form: I can see the tables these fields refer to are cmdb_ci_business_capability and cmdb_ci_business_app but how do these tables get populated and from where?

 

I don't have experience with CMDB, is it a CMDB requirement or a SPM requirement. They are asking me to tell how they can get the correct data in these tables so they can select it while creating project. While being a SPM developer, I am not very sure how to get these populated?

I did check that base configuration item table CMDB has more than 150000 records.

 

Please suggest.

Are you aware of CSDM? These tables support APM (Application Portfolio Management) process and fits in the following manner within CSDM:
