Consolidating absences in SPM Resource Management cards – is it possible in standard?

Hello,

We are using SPM Standard Resource Management to manage capacity and workload.

In our setup:

  • Absences are imported from our HR system (custom integration)
  • Actual effort comes from timecards (ERP integration)

Our objective is to get a clear view of:

  • Planned workload
  • Actual effort
  • Remaining capacity per resource

Challenge

We initially tried to display absences directly in RM cards.

However, each absence creates a separate line → resulting in:

  • Multiple lines per user
  • Poor readability
  • Difficult capacity analysis

We eventually rolled back this approach.

Today:

  • Absences are no longer visible
  • Only indirectly reflected in remaining capacity

=>  This improves readability, but reduces transparency and anticipation.

What we are trying to achieve

Ideally, we would like to:

  • Keep absences visible in RM cards
  • But consolidated into a single line per user
  • With aggregated values (planned and/or actual)

→ So capacity remains both readable and actionable.

Question

Is there any standard capability in SPM Resource Management to:

  • Aggregate or group absence entries in RM cards?
  • Or provide a more synthetic view (grouping, summarization, etc.)?

Or has anyone implemented a workaround to:

  • Keep absences visible
  • While preserving readability and capacity analysis?

Additional context
Other tools (e.g. Napta) provide a consolidated absence view per resource, which greatly improves usability for capacity planning.

We are looking to achieve a similar result in SPM Standard, ideally without heavy customization.

Thanks in advance!
