Difference between Pending, Achieved, and Not Achieved with Project Portfolio Management RIsks

Does anyone know the difference between Pending, Achieved, and Not Achieved with Project Portfolio Management RIsks?   Initially we thought "Achieved" was opened and "Not Achieved" was closed but the color coding shows green for the former and red for the latter. We also couldn't find any documentation on any other website that aligns with these state values.

I'm not able to find any documentation on risk state definitions either, I did find this: https://wiki.med.umich.edu/display/UMHSHELPDESK/ServiceNow+-+Project+Risks+and+Issues, however, it contradicts what you're saying.

I've noticed that when the state of the risk is either Pending or Not Achieved, the risk will show as an open risk on the project summary. If you set the risk state to Achieved, it will no longer show in the open risks and the number of risks is reduced by 1. Therefore, my assumption would be that setting the state to Achieved means that the risk has been mitigated.

Anyone else have any experience with this? We're on Kingston, btw, not sure if that makes a difference for this.

Why isnt anyone calling out ServiceNow for using this questionable status of 'Achieved, not achieved', instead of having an option to simply close out a risk??

Hi,

Post New York release, plan is to provide following values to risk status in addition to Pending/ Achieved / Not Achieved:

A) Avoid

B) Mitigate

C) Transfer

D) Accept

In addition plan is to provide better RIDAC (Risk, Issue, Decision, Action Items, Project change request) capabilities such as project manager can create an issue from risk and carry over the values from risk to issue and so on. Hope this helps!

Thanks,
