Extending resource plans in active projects

We are seeking a more streamlined way to extend *Allocated* resource plans.  We currently extend at the individual resource plan level.  This is a lot of work for large projects.  Does anyone have tips / tricks?  Maybe a way to extend several at once?

Any user who has resource_manager role can extend the resource plan.

Btw, which error? I am not seeing any mention about error in Mary's post. Am I missing something?
