Going "100% Workspace" in Yokohama SPM Pro.

My customers are looking to go "100% Workspace" in their adoption of SPM.  That's great for the whole demand & project lifecycle, but as I prepare their training material I'm trying to capture anything they won't be able to do.  They're in Yokohama, and the plugins (including Strategic Planning & Resource Mgt Workspace) are all bang up to date as of this morning.

The only thing I've found so far is that they can't create project templates from the Project Workspace - they need to do that from the native view.

Can anyone think of anything else?

Hi!

- The integration with IRM (risks displaying in project workspace) has no UI
- Demand conversion in Strategic Planning Workspace - we are developing that now and including the ability to convert to epic in addition to other items.
- Demand management is still in legacy UX.  Demands in the new workspace are really the planning item "demand" synced to the demand tables.  If you have a lighter weight demand management process, you could either:  Use planning items for demand intake or use feedbacks for intake (it's lighter weight and you can group them and link them to other planning items).  It really depends on what your customer is trying to do and how complicate their processes are.

Some things we are doing that may be helpful to know:

We are currently in design for demands to be in Strategic Planning Workspace.  It will likely be iterative over a few releases as there is some complexity we are trying to simplify while providing advanced capabilities.  We are also going to be integrated playbooks with it to help configure different flows for different demand types as well as improve the end user experience.

Goals and targets - some customers or users have found these difficult to use due to the portfolio plan concept.  While it is a very useful design for understanding which investments are aligned to your lens, it can be difficult when initially creating goals and targets.  We are adding a goals and targets experience outside of the portfolio plan to support different types of users and properly address those who want to create and manage them across the organization while still providing portfolio managers their views within a portfolio plan when prioritizing.

We are adding playbooks to project workspace!  I am really excited for our users to be able to take advantage of this within the project workspace experience.

We are increasing our investment in AI so there will be more coming out if this is an area of interest.

Hi @phil_bool_unifi ,

Users cannot create project templates in the Project Workspace unless they have the admin role. This comes from an inactive ACL for creating project templates, effectively restricting this capability to administrators unless the ACL is duplicated and reactivated and When applying an OOTB project template in the Project Workspace (specifically the Planning tab), tasks are created but may only appear in the Related List, not the Planning view....

As of august 2025 release, there are a couple of parity items which are not yet available in the new project workspace coming to financials. Monetary benefit plans and financials in project currency are not yet supported on the new Project workspace. They are being planned to be added in next 1 or 2 releases.

Thanks, @Vinay3 .  Doesn't sound like a significant obstacle for the customer.

Can anyone think of anything else?

Hello @phil_bool_unifi thank you for the post. You mented also the whole demand lifecycle.

In which workspace do you manage the demand lifecycle ?

We use the Project workspace for the managing the projects, but the demands are created still within the classic UI.

Thank you
