Hi All,
I have a project created with approved start date and approved end date and my project state is PENDING.
however once i move to WIP, actual start date is population. As per real world, The actual start date should be when project is moved to WIP and actual end is when project is closed complete.
But, i can see the approved start date and approved end date is getting populated in both the cases.
May i know if this is expected or im missing any logic.
Thank you
Sunil

Hi Sunil,
You need to be a bit more clear in your query as I am not sure what you're actually asking here.
OOTB, Approved and Planned dates get populated automatically, either with dates from Demand (if project is created via conversion from Demand), either with next working day if project is created isolated from Demand.
Actual start date is populated when moving project into WIP - best practice is though to manage project states and dates via the project tasks whose dates and states roll up to the project level.
From the project management/execution pov you should only care about planning and actual dates; approved dates are used for strategic purposes, within Strategic/Portfolio Planning Workspace functionality.
Hope this helps 🙂
