On Agile 2.0 Sprint Dashboard (or perhaps elsewhere), I would like to be able to show a Sprint Goal for the sprint. Anyone doing this?

We are defining an overall goal for the sprint, and would like to document it and display it in our sprint dashboards. Is this somewhere already I am missing, or have others done this?

Hi, I personally struggle with the same and I don’t think there’s a dedicated field available. However, as a workaround we just use the spirit description field where we document the goal. Not ideal but holds the information in the system and you can always filter by some key words if need be.

@shealyjs  - In Out of box there is no link between Sprint and goals. hence you may have to do custom related record with sn_gf_goal and Sprint table.

However in current servicenow table it measure goals at Portfolio/Demand and Project level not at individual sprint/story level.

You can align epics to goals within Alignment Planner Workspace.  As we are thinking about the product lifecycle from idea to delivery - we have been working under the hypothesis that goals are created from strategy and cascaded down for a specified time frame.  Then aligned to investment to help make better decisions across investments.

I'd be curious to understand more of the process you are following.  Do you have a workflow from annual to program increment to sprint goals?  Or are you just wanting to manage goals on sprints?  Is there any relationship between the goals on sprints up to strategic goals?

@Carina Hatfield  - we mostly follow OOB approach

Portfolio, program, demands are at strategic level thus goals are associated with it. Were as Stories (group of stories is sprints) are at tactical level it will not help you to measure the goals defined. You may go with customisation, but as per ideal process associating goals at sprints/stories level will not give you correct measurement for goals
