Program in Multiple Portfolios

Hi All. 

 

Our SPM business leader indicates a given Program should be part of 3 portfolios.   Can you have a ServiceNow Program assigned to multiple Portfolios. 

 

If so, what are the steps?  From within Portfolio2, if I add the Program via Edit Programs, ServiceNow removes the program from Portfolio1.

The portfolios in the table pm_portfolio are considered as decision making entities where a portfolio manager can decide which demand/project budgets are selected for execution.

As such, development artifacts can belong to a single portfolio only.

You can always define a new decision making forum, a "parent" portfolio that decides on the development that spans multiple business units. This is just one possible idea, for the most suitable recommendation we would need to understand your current portfolio setup - what you consider to be a 'portfolio' and why the program would have to be in three of them. Is it due to financial tracking, decision making, monitoring the impact, something else?
