Hi,
We are using ServiceNow SPM Project Workspace Gantt and would like to understand the available options for displaying non-working days.
We have configured a Schedule on the Project record (Business Calendar / Working Schedule), and the schedule appears to be used for task date calculations and scheduling logic. However, we have not found a way to visually display the non-working days from that schedule in the Gantt chart.
Specifically, we would like to know:
- Is it possible in Project Workspace Gantt to display non-working days defined in the project's Schedule?
- Weekends
- Public holidays
- Company holidays (e.g., summer shutdown, year-end holidays)
- Other non-working periods defined in the schedule
- If this is supported, is there a standard configuration, plugin, or Workspace setting that enables it?
- If this is not supported out of the box, what approaches are commonly used as alternatives?
For example:
- Customizing the Workspace or Gantt component
- UI Builder extensions
- Highlighting non-working periods with custom styling
- Creating holiday/milestone records or tasks for visualization
- Leveraging Resource Schedules or other calendar-related functionality
- Any other upgrade-friendly solution
Our goal is to make non-working periods visually identifiable in the Project Workspace Gantt while minimizing upgrade impact.
Any recommendations, best practices, or implementation examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
