"Back to Home" in SPW (Strategic Planning Workspace - fka APW)

Jonah Piascik

Feels like something that should be rather trivial, but I can't figure out how to return to the main home page in SPW after entering a plan (via Portfolio Lense or Free-Form Roadmap).  The only way I've found is 2 clicks (Navigation Menu -> Workspace -> Strategic Planning Workspace.  Seems like there should be a way to close the Plan currently being viewed to return to the main workspace page, or some other way to go to the 'real' home page.

Am I missing something, or is there just not a way to do this?

Hi @Jonah Piascik ,

The portfolio planning is available with SPM Standard license and Strategic Planning for SPM Pro license.

I can certainly confirm that 'Home' option is available with Strategic Planning 2.1.0, the version that you have installed.

To supplement the response with actual view of the system, I have installed 'Strategic Planning' 2.1.0 app.

Below is the screenshot from 'Strategic Planning' showing the Home as a breadcrumb to directly take to the home page.

You may want to raise a support case.

Hi @Namita Mishra - so this ended up being different issues in different instances.  In our DEV instance, we had an issue where Strategic Planning and Portfolio Planning installs/updates somehow created a custom version of the sys_ux_page_registry record:

https://<instancename>.service-now.com/nav_to.do?uri=sys_ux_page_registry.do?sys_id=51dcf024c7002010...

Reverting back to most recent OOB version fixed this.

When reviewing in our TST instance, I noticed we did not have a custom version, so I ended up trying and uninstall/reinstall (w/o removing data tables), which fixed this issue, but ended up removing some configuration we did to the application (adding lists, adding portfolio hierarchy for Epics).  So, in PRD I just ended up applying the sys_ux_page_registry record and hedge my bets on any other issues remaining.

@Nick Z - hope this helps you resolve your issue as well.

Hi Jonah, - Thanks for surfacing this situation.  I am also on v2.1.0 and appear to be experiencing the same.  I'd be curious to know what the resolution is.
