"New" EPICs are not showing on CWM

Hello,

This KB "https://support.servicenow.com/kb?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB2675470" suggests that we cannot view EPICs from the new table "sn_align_core_scrum_epic" on CWM, if so how can view the EPICS that were created ?

BR,

Hamza.

Did you check the epic table (https://[your instance].service-now.com/now/nav/ui/classic/params/target/sn_align_core_scrum_epic_list.do)?

Hey There,

I have been working to migrate my team from agile Dev. 2.0 into CWM and have been struggling with this as well.

To achieve what the KB referenced, I had to:

  • Add "Parent work item" to my story record via the native view. [rm_story.parent_work_item]
  • This adds a reference field for [sn_align_core_planning_item] where CWM creates records via  "Add Item".
  • I could then select the item or "Epic" I created and associate it to the story.
  • This now populates the Epic column on the CWM board where I pulled my existing stories in though "connected work"

Existing epics from rm_epic can be added though connected work as well, but the CWM UI doesn't really see them as Epics so there isn't any useful functionality to connect them to stories. I created an Epics board doing this as a work around until I figured out the "parent work item" fix.

My next project will be to migrate any of my active rm_epic records over to sn_align_core_scrum_epic where I hope to be able to utilize them as "epics" again and gain the "expected behavior" going forward.
