Resource Assignment - Allocation Type is not working

Hello All!

 

I'm working implementing SPM module, and I'd like to understand this behavior better: In the Resource Assignment form, we have Allocation Type field with three options: Monthly, Weekly and Plan Duration. 


None of them are doing anything. I've created the same resource assignment with the 3 options and all are spreading the hours evenly.

Even if I get into the Resource Plan configuration, and I change the allocation type and allocation spread, everything is still the same.

Can you please help me understand where is the logic in here?

Hi @Gaspar Fiks ,

Hope you are doing fine.

 

This is one of those points that is different in resource assignment from the resource plan.

In resource assignment, the allocation type will always be the planned duration. This is the reason in the screenshot above, you are always getting the information for the entire planned duration i.e. 2025/10/15 to 2026/03/01.

 

However, you can see the weekly\monthly view of the resource allocations from Project workspace \ Resource management workspace.
