I need help understanding when to complete (or should we?) the resource plans. We are now using resource assignments and with that a resource plan is created which get set to allocated. Do we need to manually close the resource plans when done or do they just stay in allocated? Thank you in advance!

Hi Karlie,
Here is how resource plans work with resource assignments:
With resource assignments, there is NO one-one mapping between the resource assignments and resource plans. Resource plans are aggregated based on the attributes of the resources and so you will see that multiple resource assignments are mapped to one resource plan and you will also see that resource plans do not have the users. So, in the new resource assignments, resource assignments are the tables where all the resource assignments take place and resource plan is a background table that is being taken cared of the process.
As an end user, when you are using resource assignments, you can ignore the resource plans and so you do not have to manually update anything in the resource plans.
