Resource Management- Over Allocations

Resource Management- Looking for a threshold in which ServiceNow will not allocate hours to an individual.  I have Resource Managers that will purposely over allocate and want to be able to show how over allocated an individual is.

Hiya - are you still using Resource Plans? If you are and are only looking to see overallocated resources, I'd advise to check the Resource Reports module; there are some reports there that should display either negative availability or overallocation using the Allocation and Allocation Details ones

Thank you!  Our issue is more for the Resource Managers and the Allocation Workbench.  It seems there is no rhyme or reason as to when the system says it can only partially or not allocate someone to a request.  Optimally, I would like the Resource Managers to say, I don't have capacity, but no one wants to do that.  The system is just deciding to only partially allocate or not allocate at all.  Have you run into that?

What we have done is that we agreed internally that no one is to be allocated over 1 FTE in any given period and our Resource Managers are sticking to that. I believe you can enforce to avoid overallocation with some business rules and potentially reviewing some properties related to resourcing (didn't get to look into these in depth as luckily the internal agreement works so didn't need to enforce it technically, so to speak).

I did find this guide helpful -> Resource Management - Troubleshooting Guide - ServiceNow Community

especially the part which says:

4.How to allocate resources only up to  user’s capacity?

If you do not want to over-allocate a user, always use Resource Finder for confirming / allocating the resource plans. This is because resource finder restricts the confirmation / allocation only up to the scheduled hours whereas form or workbench confirmation / allocation will attempt to allocate up to 24 hours.
