Resource Reports or Resource Management Workspace in Xanadu?

Will resource management reports will work to show allocation details? As we transition to resource assignments, how does this impact the resource reports? Or, should we be transitioning to referencing capacity with the resource management workspace and/or Capacity Planning tab within the Strategic Planning Workspace?

SN documentation showing same article for resource reports with Xanadu release version:

Hello @Maddie Wolf ,

Resource reports will keep working as they were before Xanadu...

Please mark the response as correct if it answers the query.

Happy SPM Learning !

Hello @Namita Mishra ,
@Maddie Wolf

I was checking this similar topic and would like provide a little bit more context to it, and see if my understanding is correct. Would appreciate if you could confirm it!

Some of the resource reports will still work, but not all of them as they used to.

If I'm not mistaken, there is no more soft/hard booked differentiation (no more CONFIRMED state) with resource assignments. Resource assignments automatically create resource allocations in "old" tables in ALLOCATED state, so reports will not show information related to confirmed allocations.

Capacity, availability and (hard) allocation reports will still work, as the underlying aggregate tables (resource_aggregate_daily/weekly/monthly) will still be populated based on the resource assignment records.

The architecture is something like: User creates resource assignments, then the system automatically creates "umbrella" resource plans and the related resource allocation records in the background, and that further populates the aggregate tables.

I hope I'm not completely wrong here:)

This was my understanding also and I am cautious of the accuracy of the calculations within resource reports due to the hard allocations in the background if the resource assignment is still in pending or unapproved status.

I wasn't sure if there was a new or updated tool for us to use for capacity planning through allocation details that leverages resource assignments more accurately?
