Hi
Can anyone help with identifying what license types the different OOB defined SAFe roles in ServiceNow are linked to.
In other words, if a user is assigned the safe_scrum_master role what license type is being charged from ServiceNow?
-
Is it an ITBM-Analyst license?
-
ITBM-Planner license?
- ITBM-Worker License?
The question goes for all of the OOB SAFe roles:
- SAFe admin role
- SAFe ART user role
- SAFe scrum product owner role
- SAFe scrum story creator role
- SAFe scrum story editor role
- SAFe scrum story editor role
- User of SAFe scrum
Or is there a way to see which user is subscribed to which license model in ServiceNow?
Thanks.

For licensing questions, you should always check with your account team as you may have special contract considerations. For all of the SAFe functionality, Analyst and Planner licenses can do any of these functions. The worker license can only have user scrum and ART user roles. Worker can work on these stories and functions, but cannot create or manage them.

Thanks for your reply. It gives me some sort of better understanding of how the roles/licenses should be sliced in a SAFE implementation project within ServiceNow. However, in an ideal setup which is more in line with SAFE/Agile spirit, it would have been preferred that every member in the SAFE enterprise was able to create and manage stories and features, without this affecting the cost of using the system.
I will keep the post open a bit more, in case some one else could share more info regarding this matter. Otherwise I will close the question with yours as the correct answer.
