SPW: demands and projects not appearing for portfolio plan based on portfolio lens

While configuring the Strategic Planning Workspace I am running into an issue while playing with the portfolio plans. When I try to create a portfolio plan based on a portfolio lens, after creating the portfolio plan there are no planning items appearing in the 'prioritization' tab (or roadmaps tab for that matter). Only after creating a demand out of the portfolio plan a planning item is created (and also appears on the demand tab in the default portfolio page from the ppm module).

When creating a new demand on the portfolio page (through the ppm module, so not through the portfolio plan in SPW) they do not appear in the portfolio plan created on the portfolio lens.

When creating a free-form roadmap in Portfolio Planning, the demands that I created through ppm do appear on the free-form roadmap.

When creating a portfolio plan based on department lens, the demands that I created through ppm do appear as planning items in the portfolio plan (all of them).

Seems like something is blocking or filtering the demands/projects from the portfolio to appear as planning items but I am not sure what. I updated the alignment integrations (ServiceNow Internal) and reimported the items. I made sure to check the dates of the items. I made sure to check there are no filters enabled when and after creating the portfolio plan through the portfolio lens. All relevant planning items are selected when creating the portfolio plan, including demand and projects.

Anyone has encountered this issue before and found out what is preventing planning items to appear when creating the portfolio plan based on portfolio lens?

I had same issue; you will need to configured integration between alignment and execution tables
