Hi everyone,

I am looking for guidance on the step-by-step process to implement and configure Resource Management before starting to use Resource Plans in ServiceNow.

I want to make sure we follow the correct setup and don’t miss any foundational configurations. Specifically, I would like to understand:

  • What are the prerequisites before creating Resource Plans?

  • How should we configure:

    • Users and roles

    • Groups (resource groups)

    • Schedules and working hours

  • Is there any setup required for:

    • Resource pools

    • Skills

    • Allocation settings

Also, are there any best practices or common mistakes to avoid when starting with Resource Plans?

My goal is to have a properly configured system before using Resource Plans in projects, rather than fixing issues later.
