Time Cards vs. Time Worked in SPM – Looking for Feedback

Hi everyone,
I think I’ve finally wrapped my head around how Time Worked functions. As I understand it, the idea is that an individual user manually enters the time spent on a specific task or record, and when the entry is saved, a corresponding task_time_worked record is created. That makes sense.
However, since we’re using SPM, I’m considering a different approach:
Instead of having users enter Time Worked directly on each task, I’m thinking it might be better to have them create Time Cards, and then use those Time Cards to automatically generate the related task_time_worked records. This would keep time reporting centralized, more consistent, and aligned with the Project/Program financials.
Has anyone implemented something like this? Does this approach make sense, or are there drawbacks I should be aware of? I’d really appreciate any feedback or lessons learned from others who have tried it.
