Hello, i am new and trying to learn ServiceNow

HOW CAN I CREATE A CHILD MODULE INSIDE A PARENTS MODULE?

Like you have an application menu, then inside the application menu is the parents module, and inside the parent module is the child module.

I can create the parents module but cannot add the child module into it.

The PDI version I use is Yokohama.

Hi @deminh17 ,

I guess you want to create module under the application (I guess you are referring it like- parent module) ex:- Incident is an application while - Create New, Assign to me etc are the modules under it. If you are looking for this- Just hover on the Application (parent module) and see you will find Pencil icon on it to edit it, click on it.

Click on New under modules:-

Select appropraite link type as per your requirement - List of records/ New reocrd/ Report etc. Try this and let me know the feedback.

If my answer helepd you, please mark it- solution accepted.

@deminh17 ,

So we can achive this by creating "seperator" type module.

For example : We want to add a module "Test" inside the application menu "Incident".

and inside that "Test" module we want some other modules too.

See screeshot below :

Screenshot (29).png

To achieve this what we did is :

We have created a new module "Test" in the application menu "Incident" with Link type "Seperator" and keep its order "310"

Screenshot (30).png

So all the modules having order more than "310" in the incident application menu will come under this module.

As specified in top most screenshot.

Hope it helps and answered your question!

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG

  • Yes, the link you sent me mentions the Separator type for modules, however it displays in a line Link Type in the article of Creating and Configuring Modules so it took me a while to find it. Thank you for the solution
