Hi everyone, I have working experience with ITSM, but CMDB is a space where I haven't had much direct exposure until recently. For the last week or so, I've had the opportunity to dive into our CMDB. While I know the basic concepts, trying to fix real organizational health issues without prior deep hands-on experience in CMDB implementation or governance has been challenging!
We are trying to eliminate manual outreach to busy asset owners and field teams. Since we don't have budget for ServiceNow AI (Now Assist), I want to leverage native platform features to automate our data health.
I’d love your advice on Completeness Scorecards:
1. Score Weighting Impact: By default, Completeness factors in both Required and Recommended attributes. Optional recommended fields are dragging down our overall score. How can we adjust metric weightings or remove non-essential fields from the CI Class Manager rules?
2. Hidden Form Attributes: Certain required fields like short_description are missing from default form layouts (e.g., Servers). What is the platform best practice for auto-filling required attributes upon CI creation when they aren't visually present on the form layout?
