ServiceNow CMDB vs. in-house CMDB

My org prefers the use of another CMDB to using ServiceNow and ServiceNow Discovery. What would be the best way for me to broach the topic of making the switch? Would it be worth it, if what we have is already "working?"

The best way to determine for your organization if a switch is needed, is to do a cost benefits analysis.  In this analysis, take the time to compare the value of the current state versus the lost opportunities in functionality by not using the ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB along with the costs to transition.

 

I'd be interested to learn what benefits are to having another CMDB in place for your organization.  Architecturally,  a healthy CMDB is the backbone to gaining real value from ServiceNow.  This fact will only grow in the future with AI Agents, Autonomous Workflow, AI Control Tower and other offerings.
