After much struggle and help from SN, I've wrestled Custom Reports to the ground and can do basic charting using jFree Charts. I believe that the whole jFreeChart api is not fully supported in Eureka but was able to get all but the TimeSeries charts to work. Below are a few samples, let me know if it is worth posting the script code to the blog or Share.
Next step is to get the Summary Sets working properly to collect the data, all these examples have hard-coded data:
