Capstone project in ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals Task 3 Verification

Hi there,

On the 3rd task in the capstone project, to verify the flow has been activated the system admin impersonates a user to order the sFone, and after that, the boss (Bud Richman) must approve it. When I am impersonating Bud, there are no issues to be approved even though the request can be seen on the user side.

Has anyone completed this task and encountered the same problem?

Thank you!

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG , I am actually encountering the same issue as the OP.

ServiceNow Administration Fundamentals -> Capstone Project Challenge Format -> Task 3: Automate Service Catalog Item Fulfillment

The end of task 3 asks the admin to Test the Flow - Order a Strawberry sFone.

  1. Impersonate a user (David Loo) and order the phone.
  2. Switch to impersonating the manager (Bud Richman) to approve the request.

What I'm seeing is that after David Loo orders, the ticket's Approval field is automatically set to Approved, the ticket is never sent to Bud Richman (or it happens so fast and is auto-approved that way but who knows). But, the ticket then gets stuck in a state where the Flow doesn't register any action took place.

I've been through all of the steps in the solution a dozen times now, and run several tests, but it always gets hung up on the 'Wait for Condition' step of the Flow.

I have checked multiple times now to confirm that David Loo has the correct manager, but the step is simply getting skipped. I've gone round in circles with each step of the Flow Design and it matches, so I'm not sure where the hiccup is.

Regards.

Hi @wayfinder

What is the cost of the item you are getting, also need to check teh OOTB flow which mapped to that item.  If still issue, log a Now Learning case.

Hi @Dr Atul G- LNG ,

I figured it out! The flow (for reasons unknown) was not previously saving when I assigned it to the item in the catalog. I tried today and it worked without any issue on the first attempt to assign the flow, and problem solved.

You mentioning the OOTB flow inadvertently lead me in the direction I needed to go. Thanks!
