Hello everyone,

I am new to ServiceNow and I am currently exploring the capabilities of the ServiceNow PDI. I am eager to start building some applications, but I'm not quite sure where to start. What are some beginner applications that I can build in my ServiceNow PDI that will help me get a good grasp of the platform's functionalities and features?

Furthermore, I have been wondering about the usefulness of practicing application building on a PDI when I won't be able to bring these apps to full production. Will practicing on a PDI help me gain skills and knowledge that I can apply to real-life situations, or will it be a waste of time and effort? Are there any best practices or insights that you can share with me regarding the benefits of practicing on a PDI versus a live instance?

Any tips or guidance that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help."

Hi @abebriones94,
first of all, welcome to the ServiceNow universe 🙂

I can recommend the courses on the developer site you already know: Build My First App Engine Studio Application Objectives | ServiceNow Developer

Also you will find tons of guidance in NowLearning. Just pick one and you will come across many more in you process of learning!

Regarding you question to PDI vs. Live Instance: I use my PDI for personal projects or quick try-outs. But you can export you developments easily from your PDI to some other instance with XML export, Update Sets, etc. so I would say its definitely not a waste of time.
