Hi @pediredlave ,

While the "Administrator" and "Developer" exams are indeed paid, there is currently a huge opportunity for a different certification that you should grab immediately.

The CIS-Data Foundations (CIS-DF) is FREE until June 30, 2026.

Why is it free? ServiceNow recently made the CIS-Data Foundations a mandatory prerequisite for many other implementation exams (like ITSM, Discovery, etc.). To help the ecosystem adapt to this change, they are waiving the exam fee during this transition period.

Why you should take it:

  1. It saves you $450: After June 30, 2026, this will likely become a paid exam again.

  2. It validates core skills: It covers CSDM and CMDB, which are fundamental for any Admin or Developer role.

  3. It is a full CIS Badge: It counts as a mainline certification.

If this saves you some money and adds a cert to your profile, please mark it as Accepted Solution.

Best regards,
Brandão.

Hi @fknell

How are u?

I searched and couldn't find anywhere stating that the CSA is a requirement for the CIS-DF.

I only saw that having the CSA is recommended, but not mandatory.

Fine, hope you too.

Valid point, I just doubled checked the ServiceNow Credentialing Program Guide and apart from the Technology CIS non of them comes with a pre-requisite now.

Although the credential path looks like you have to complete it up-front.
