Hi! I am Tamika Miller from New Hanover Regional Medical Center, in Wilmington North Carolina. I am the admin for Service Now here at our hospital for almost a year now since we went live. I am also the Asset Analyst for the hospital as well. I am hoping to take away a better understanding of how we can get our CMDB working better and tracking our assets for the entire hospital and our facilities.

Betsy Frymier from Lockheed Martin. The LM Enterprise went live in February of this year with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, Discovery and a green field CMDB; we did Catalog/Portal in May of 2017. I am the ITSM process lead and the CMDB SME. I work closely with HW Asset Management people and want to understand how shared foundational data (ex. models) can be managed and maintained effectively in a support model that bridges multiple disciplines.

The slides are printed in your book with explanatory notes.
Unfortunately, the slide deck itself is not shared in digital format.

Question to the masses. What does your Asset Management organization look like? Where I work each infrastructure area handle their own Asset Management process (Server, Desktop, Network & Mainframe). Of course, it's not very effective.
Is anyone managing all their Asset Management together?
TIA
Sandy

After this course, I am also interested in learning as much as possible about inventory management, contract management, vendor management as I will be responsible for transition our transition stockroom to the inventory management model, and moving our contracts, maintenance contracts, and vendors to the associated applications. I am not a developer at this time. Thanks!

Take 2 - can we get a black and white version of the slide on page 17? The colors did not translate well onto the printed page, and it's virtually illegible.

Perhaps focus focus on the most important disciplines first. Rather than bundling job roles together.
1) Model
2) Hardware and Software
3) Inventory
4) Data
5) Contract + Vendor
6) Financial

That's what I got out of that section. The records link to Software License Records (alm_license). When navigating to the table and selecting 'Show List', I can see there is a total of 79 Software Licenses. Each license appears to have a 'Rights' field which I assume is the amount that can be applied to devices (e.g. Microsoft MSDN 2010 has 600 Rights but within the Microsoft MSDN 2010 record it shows 586 Device entitlements).
I'm no expert in this space but that is my take on it!

Yes, touching on basics of data modeling, but not going deep. See Nic (at front next to Kailey) on breaks for more information. Normalization - yes. Kailey is going to cover the content in class. We may not have time to do the lab (it is listed as optional). You obviously can do that lab on your own.

Hi, it's a really good, and big!, question. I think the key thing is to adopt a staged approach and, once the data foundation is in place, to prioritize the 'quick wins'. The success of the early phase can then motivate and justify some of the more challenging activities that may involve integration with other processes in ServiceNow (eg Service Catalog) or with other systems (vendors, finance). The disclosure sequence of the course today deliberately follows a likely order of implementation.
